Brad Metzler (JLA, Book of Lies) takes over the writing chores on Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Eight for the penultimate arc of the series running from issue #32 -#35 and leading into a Joss Whedon grand finale.
Editor Scott Allie told CBR that #32’s variant cover homage to Action Comics #1 was Metzler’s idea because ” Buffy’s gained superpowers” which opens up a billion possible comic book geek moments. Looks like she gets to fly.
Issue #33 contains the identity of the mysterious Season 8 big bad… Twilight. CBR published the cover on Wednesday, Dec 2 which shows an unmasked Twilight, but blocks out his identity which is to be revealed that issue. Later that day they received another version with the face of President Barack Obama in the place of the obscured face. I’m guessing reader hoax.
The New Moon toy line has been released and is available at Amazon, but no word on this shirtless action figure of Taylor Lautner as wolf-boy hottie Jacob Black. I hope they haven’t decided not to release it.
This has to be the hottest action figure I’ve seen in awhile. Fingers crossed it isn’t too gay for shelves. If you have the scoop on when/if it will see the light of day, let’s hear it!
which is gayer… Jacob the shirtless wolfboy… or Gay Bob from 1977?
Too bad Jacob Black doesn’t come anatomically correct (and life size).

I was sure that Diana was going to be significantly changed since they showed the blacked out mystery Wonder Woman figure in DC Direct’s Blackest Night series 4. I considered that perhaps she might end up a White Lantern (I have a feeling we still may see some), but the solicited cover on #2 of this 3 issue mini-series cinched it as a White Lantern wouldn’t be fighting Mera.
Black Lantern Maxwell Lord has risen and he seeks revenge and retribution for his death at the hands of Diana. Look for unexpected changes to await Wonder Woman in the course of this series as she plays a major role in the War of Light against the Blackest Night.
Fan-favorite writer Greg Rucka returns to chronicle the adventures of the Amazing Amazon in the DC Universe’s darkest hour! With the beautiful images of Secret Six artist Nicola Scott!
Any ideas about what the “unexpected changes” could be? I’m still guessing White Lantern since we already saw her as Black Lantern in Blackest Night #4, so having the big surprise be that she turns into a Black Lantern would be no big whoop. But then I’m wrong a lot. That is the problem with guessing.
