DC reveals covers to resurrected Blackest Night titles

UPDATE: In Blackest Night #6, DC has FINALLY given us a look at the real covers for the 8 titles they are resurrecting for a special Blackest Night tie-in… If you haven’t read you Blackest Night #6 don’t look too closely or you might give something away (more on that later wink wink).

This January, the BLACKEST NIGHT mini series skips a month to make room for a very special Blackest night event. Eight classic titles from DC’s past will return from the dead for one month only to celebrate this mega-crossover throughout the DC Universe. Each series will pick up on its original numbering and feature characters from their original runs as they deal with the events currently unfolding in the DC Universe.

STARMAN #81 James Robinson returns to the book he made great and visits some old haunts. QUESTION #37 Greg Rucka has the one answer for when two Questions meet. POWER OF SHAZAM #48 Eric Wallace tells the tale in which Osiris returns from the dead to “chew the fat” with a very powerless Billy and Mary Batson. SUICIDE SQUAD #67 Gail Simone and John Ostrander are ringside for the epic fight between a very dead Suicide Squad and a possibly soon-to-be dead Secret Six.
PHANTOM STRANGER #42 Pete Tomasi reveals what Blackest Night means to the Phantom Stranger. CATWOMAN #83 Fabian Nicieza has the original Black mask explaining to Selina why shooting him in the head was a bad idea. ATOM AND HAWKMAN #46 Geoff brings you the double date from Hell, The Black Lantern Hawks work to reunite Atom with his long dead love, Jean Loring. WEIRD WESTERN TALES #71 Dan DiDio (weirdly talking about myself in the third person) lets you know what all the dead old west characters are doing in the new west today.

You can see the previously final issues of these titles in my original post on the subject.

The Siege: Embedded #1 of 4

It looks like the Marvel U has it’s very own Glenn Beck/Bill O’Reilly… As if they didn’t have enough trouble with Norman Osborn at the helm, now they have to listen to THIS fictional asshat?

SIEGE BLOCKBUSTER TIE-IN!! The SIEGE of Asgard has begun! And Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers are leading the charge! Osborn’s savvy use of the media fueled his rise to power – but the very tools he’s been using may turn against him.

It’s time to expose Norman’s true face to the world and uncover the secrets behind the attack on the gods! Witness the changing of the Marvel Universe firsthand!

I can’t wait for next weeks books. I’m eagerly anticipating “The Siege” and the ramifications it will have on the Marvel U. We’ve spent the past year watching Norman Osborn build a precarious house of homicidal cards, and it ought to be collapsing on him anytime now.

Happy New Year from Oliver Fish and Kyle Lewis

I absolutely LOVE the way they are telling the story of the developing relationship between Oliver and Kyle on One Life to Live. They are so sweet, tender and romantic together. I wonder how the suburban moms of the midwest are taking it…

Plus a few more moments with Oliver and Kyle…

I know the storyline will only go on as long as the regular viewers like it so I hope they are enjoying the beefcake as much as we are. There have been other gay arcs on soaps before, but the characters generally get shuffled off into limbo eventually. Lets hope Oliver and Kyle become longtime Llanview residents.

New Mutants #9: Tinderbox

Took them long enough to pick up this dangling sub-plot… I think it would have made for a better opening arc than Legion’s return.

What is Illyana Rasputin up to? In NEW MUTANTS #1, she returned from who knows where with knowledge that she says is from the future. A future where things aren’t going well for the X-Men. Emma Frost is not going to settle for this question being unanswered.
