Yeah, Loki finally got his groove back and restored Sif to normal (albeit in a roundabout way). Have you not been reading Thor? It's one of Marvel's better titles right now.

I somehow think it's a ruse. I really can't see them giving it away with the cover like that. But, then again, there WAS that picture on Bryan Lynch's site of "Spike is not Twilight"....so I guess we'll see.

Glad to see SIP on the list, If you're including other graphic novels, maybe add D'Mer and Reiken (among others - lots of "Everyone Is Bi"-ness) of A Distant Soil. Bast is a shapechanger who presents through most of the series as female, but changes genders based on situation and love, so the character reads as transgender or genderqueer.

Also, Elfquest, although they have a sad tendency to kill off the explicitly gay male pairings (2 for 2, by my count). In the original 8-10 book canon (depending on who's counting), you have a canon "Everyone Is Bi" vibe: Cutter and Skywise; Pike, Krim, and Scot (a permanent bi M/M/F threesome pairing... come to think of it, Scot, the second male in the threesome died too - DAMMIT, WARP!); Cutter, Nightshade, and Redlance (another M/M/F threesome); Leetah and Nightshade (F/F); and so on...

Don't forget Tom Bouden's first hit, "Max and Sven." A completely refreshing, funny, and touchingly honest portrayal of a friendship between two best friends, one gay and one straight. Great list, but don't forget that one! :)

I TOTALLY understand your point, but considering Watchmen was published LONG before DC tried it's Vertigo imprint, and Sandman was basically it's foundation back before anyone thought of it as more than an experiment, I stand by my Indie classification for those two titles as we don't see any regulars from either series showing up in the pages of JLA regularly.

I expanded the Indie classification to include pretty much everything that is neither completely mainstream nor completely gay. I realize that it encompasses many shades of gray, but it was easier to include all of the non-typical publications together instead of creating a seperate classifications for progressive publications published by mainstream publishers.

I may have to create a separate category for the progressive mainstream titles... We can always hope. But until that section gets longer they get lumped with the indies.

Watchmen and Sandman are not actually indie, both were published by DC. Just as a small clarification. :)

I suggest "Fun Home" by Alison Bechdel. It was nominated for several awards, won an Eisner and spent two weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list.
